Join us for the first of four performed walks highlighting historical figures and their connection to our Island.
How much do you know about Oscar Wilde? You can walk with the celebrated author and hear about his famous (or infamous) life including his lecture ‘On Dress’ delivered at Ryde Town Hall in 1884.
Meet at 10.30am on July 13 at Ryde Town Hall, weave past Hughes & Mullins, Royal Photographers who captured iconic images of Oscar’s ‘1884 Summer Dress’ photoshoot, saunter along the Esplanade to our final stop, Appley Tower, where you can climb to the top for panoramic views of the Solent and Puckpool Park.
This is a free event but donations are welcome. Book your place here.
This is the first in a series of performed walks from July to October. Read more about them here.
