David is an openly gay man who lived as a monk for seven years before moving to the Isle of Wight in 1975 where he met his first partner. He owned a hotel on Sandown seafront and a guesthouse in Totland. He is passionate about his work as a volunteer with the gay men’s health group in the late 1980’s.
